Spirit Review – Dine-In Pizza with Drinks and More

For many years, we've been fans of Spirit for its mix of being an event venue and bar space, while also serving up some rather tasty slices of pizza to go along with it.

In late 2025, Spirit made a move to expand their pizza concept, not in their event space proper, but via a fully dedicated dine-in pizza restaurant in the back of the building (accessible via a side entrance).

As we are always about more places offering a pizza-forward menu served dine-in, with a bar program and more, we went to this one right away and really like how Spirit is elevating their pizza game all around!

The 10 Best Places to Eat in Pittsburgh Right Now

One of our favorite activities when going out and exploring Pittsburgh is trying new restaurants, and over the years we've visited hundreds upon hundreds of local establishments from street food vendors to mom and eateries, fancy prix fixe dining experiences, and everything in between.

Truly, there is no cuisine type we won't try, and we've been on a mission to taste it all.

Since the early days of running Discover the Burgh, we've always highlighted a list of our 10 favorite restaurants in our Pittsburgh restaurants guide as a quick call out to the best spots right now. But in that guide, we did not spend a lot of time explaining why these restaurants made the cut.

While we thought our linked reviews typically speak for themselves for detailed accounts of a specific dining experience, in this one, we thought we'd take a high-level look at our 10 favorites and share why they've made the current list.

But before getting into it, we should note that while these are our personal top 10 places to eat in Pittsburgh, it is hard to compare any two on the list. Is there a big difference between #1 and #2 or #5 and #9 in terms of quality? Not really- they're all great, and that's the point. We could spend hours discussing the finer details of why we arranged the list as we did, but in reality, it is just our preference, and any spot on this list is going to offer a great meal.

Likewise, we should call out that these are not Pittsburgh food institutions that have been local staples for decades, nor do these restaurants necessarily sell what we'd call famous Pittsburgh foods. These are the best restaurants without any caveats. Pocha by Kye-Won Review – Traditional Korean in Saxonburg

Every once in a while a restaurant leaves us feeling so happy, nourished, and cared for that we are still thinking about it weeks later. Pocha by Kye-Won in Saxonburg is just that kind of restaurant.

The food includes classics like mandu; bibimbap; and complete meals with meats, japchae, and rice, but it also includes American classics with Kye-Won's own personal spin like burgers topped with kimchi and gochujang mayo. On top of all that, the hospitality here is off the charts- you're guaranteed to leave feeling like family.

We were guests of Pocha courtesy of Butler County Tourism, and immediately fell in love with this unassuming gem in Saxonburg.

Note: Pocha by Kye-Won also has a Sunday brunch menu that primarily features non-Korean dishes. The regular menu is not available until the dinner hours on Sundays. We have not visited for brunch yet and have not included it in our review.

Camino Review – Casual Mexican Dining in Bloomfield

Camino is a Mexican restaurant in Bloomfield with a fast-casual vibe. From the owners of other local Mexican spots Tocayo and Totopo, Camino offers a similar menu with cocktails, burritos, bowls, tacos, and more.

The space is bright and cheery, and while some of the entrees hit the mark for us more than others, the cocktails were respectable, and, perhaps most important of all, the food came in at an incredibly good value.

So if you want a reasonably priced Mexican restaurant, Camino has a lot to consider.

Hyeholde’s Prix Fixe Delight – Six Courses with Beer Pairing

After visiting the stunning Hyeholde in Moon Township for our anniversary, we knew we would have to return for one of their prix fixe dinner experiences (either the chef's table or a periodic themed menu offering).

Shortly thereafter, we got our chance with Hyeholde's annual beer dinner with Altered Genius Brewing to celebrate the release of their collaboration house beer, the Hyeholde Grisette.

Curry Mouth Review – Go for a Trinidadian Combo Meal

We always welcome more international dining in Pittsburgh, and it is always an exciting day when we hear about a new Caribbean restaurant opening in the region in particular.

So when we heard about the restaurant, Curry Mouth, opening up and focusing on cuisine from Trinidad, we were in. For those who like flavorful dishes that pack the spice without being overtly hot, this one has a lot to love.

Hyeholde Review – Fine Dining in a Beautiful Castle

Hyeholde is a Pittsburgh fine dining institution housed in a castle in Moon Township.

Built in 1937 originally as a combination restaurant and living space, the ambiance here is hard to beat with dining tables tucked into dozens of nooks and rooms around the castle. It's a special occasion spot for sure, serving up seasonal, high-end food and drinks.

Palm Palm Review – Coastal Vibes and International Tapas

Palm Palm is a vibrant small plates restaurant located in Shadyside near East Liberty. The restaurant, the second venture from the folks behind Ritual House, aims to blend the vibes and food from Palm Beach and Palm Springs, along with nods to other cuisines from around the world.

With good flavor combinations in the dishes, tropical-leaning cocktails, and coastal vibes, the spot has a feel-good ambiance that's sure to draw crowds.

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings Review – A Dumpling Feast

Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings got its start in Flushing, New York, a few decades ago and has since garnered a huge following, expanding to multiple locations in several states. Needless to say, the opening of a location right here in Pittsburgh created a huge initial buzz and anticipation.

We visited soon after opening and enjoyed the fun vibe, the variety of soup dumplings on offer, and several of the non-dumpling menu offerings.

Hey Babe Offers a Mix of Cocktails and Food in East Liberty

Ever since Whitfield closed at The Ace Hotel (now the Maverick Hotel), we've been looking forward to a new spot that would be a worthy successor.

In 2025, Hey Babe opened and had a menu that made us think this could be the place, and we went in as quickly as we could to check it out.

On the surface, Hey Babe feels like a proper hotel lounge, with a robust menu of craft cocktails, wine, and beer. This alone would put the bar in the running for one of the best hotel bars in the city. But throw on their robust food menu as well, and this is the kind of place you can go for drinks, food, or a little bit of everything and not feel out of place- for guests of the hotels and locals alike.

To put it bluntly, Hey Babe has just about everything we look for in a good cocktail bar.
