Discover the Burgh is one of the most read websites in Pittsburgh, and is all about sharing the best attractions, restaurants, and activities to do in the region for both visitors and locals alike!

Our articles are review-based and follow Jeremy and Angie's personal experiences visiting businesses and attractions in the greater Pittsburgh area, and to-date we have featured more than 1,000 unique spots with more added weekly.

What you see is what you get here. We live in the city of Pittsburgh. We do not farm out work to staff two states over. We take our own photos. We are not owned by a media conglomerate, venture capital firm, or have any global sponsors. All articles are written by the two of us alone and feature our honest opinions good, bad, or otherwise.

We are Pittsburghers, writing for Pittsburghers and visitors to Pittsburgh, and we sure do love this great city!

Disclaimers: Due to COVID-19 we are not attending indoor events at this time. We do not accept guest posts. We do not sell dofollow links. We do not have an event listing page. We do not offer complimentary features without personally visiting a business. We do not participate in influencer campaigns. We receive many requests for these but we are unable to accommodate them at this time.

About Jeremy and Angie

Jeremy and Angie Discover the Burgh

Jeremy and Angie are the authors behind Discover the Burgh. Together we have been to more than 1,000 attractions, restaurants, events, parks, bars, and breweries in southwest Pennsylvania since founding the site in 2015.

Jeremy is a full-time travel writer who also blogs at Living the Dream, a global travel blog that he founded in 2008 (plus several other new projects including This Week in Blogging and The Grape Pursuit). He has over 12 years of experience in destination marketing, SEO, social media marketing, photography, and has given talks at travel conferences including TBEX and Travelcon on the topics of local blogging and social media marketing.

In early 2019, Jeremy founded World of Discovery Media LLC in which Discover the Burgh and Living the Dream are member websites. Jeremy is a member of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) and the Society of American Travel Writers (SATW). In 2019, Jeremy won a Bronze photography award from NATJA in the category of “Landscape, Nature, and Architecture (Online)”. In 2020, Jeremy completed his WSET Level 2 certification in wine and is beginning WSET Level 3 in 2021.

Angie is the resident foodie of Discover the Burgh and focuses on finding all of the best restaurants and coffee shops in the city. Her passion for restaurants and coffee is matched by her desire to re-create the best dishes and coffee styles at home in her spare time where she can be found roasting coffee, baking sourdough bread, perfecting pizza dough, and so much more. In 2020, Angie completed her WSET Level 2 certification in wine along with Jeremy.

Together, Jeremy and Angie have been named one of USAToday's 10Best Travel Couples in 2014, were voted “Best Local Foodie Influencer” in Pittsburgh City Paper's annual poll in 2020, and won't stop until they have explored all of Pittsburgh and southwest Pennsylvania!
