Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Downtown Review – An All Around Gem

The Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Pittsburgh is a newer addition to Pittsburgh's hotel scene, having just opened in March 2016.

With clean and modern rooms (many of which have views of Market Square), an adjacent parking garage, and two on-site restaurants, this hotel is a great option for those visiting the city and wanting to be at the center of all the action.

Hampton Inn Pittsburgh Review – A Perfect Location Downtown

For most, the neighborhood interface between downtown Pittsburgh and the Strip District is a bit empty. There are a few restaurants and even the Heinz History Center (one of the top museums in the city), but beyond that there isn't much to attract the foot traffic like in the heart of the two neighborhoods themselves.

On the surface, this may seem like to be a downside. But this particular spot is home to several hotels which claim a key location within walking distance of not one, but two of the city's most popular neighborhoods to explore.

Naturally, we had to head downtown to check them out, and on a late-2016 night we stayed at the Hampton Inn Pittsburgh to see what makes this one worth your attention on your next visit to the city.

Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Airport Review – A Modern Option

We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Airport South Robinson Mall before an early morning flight, and it proved to be a clean, modern, comfortable stay just seven miles from the airport.

Although this one is a bit further out than other airport hotels, there are a few reasons you may want to consider this one over the alternatives.

5 of the Best Hotels Near Pittsburgh Airport

Pittsburgh International Airport is located approximately 20 miles west of downtown Pittsburgh off of I-376. Although the commute to the airport in and out of downtown Pittsburgh is a breeze most of the time (outside of rush hour traffic, at least), there are some cases where you would want to consider a stay at one of the many Pittsburgh airport hotels nearby.

For residents, this would be when you have an extremely early flight and would want the convenience of some extra sleep before your journey. For visitors, this would be when you're coming in for business and do not necessarily need to (or want to) head into the city for an otherwise brief stay.

With over a dozen hotels near Pittsburgh airport to choose from, you have numerous options. To help with your selection, we wanted to highlight five hotels with unique amenities that we think are well worth considering!

The North Side is home to a number of Pittsburgh hotels that predominately serve visitors coming in for a Pirates or Steelers game.

When our friends at SpringHill Suites North Shore invited us out to stay at the hotel for an evening, we wanted to see what made this hotel worth staying in- both for those coming in for a game and others who simply want to explore this awesome city we call home.

Hampton Inn Pittsburgh University Review – Go For the Location

Pittsburgh's Oakland neighborhood is home to many of the city's universities, but it also has a distinct lacking in available hotels to accommodate the influx of visitors the colleges receive. Our visit to the Hampton Inn University / Medical Center is our first entry covering the Oakland hotel scene, and we wanted to answer very important question: is it worth your visit?

Pittsburgh Airport Marriott Review – Park and Fly

We always dread early morning flights, so when we had the opportunity to stay at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott recently on the night before a 7am flight, we jumped at the chance.

With recent renovations, a restaurant with an emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients, comfortable rooms, and a park and fly option, there's plenty at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott to make your travel less stressful.

Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh Review – Downtown Gem

When I normally think of convention center hotels, my first thought is of a place for business travelers coming in for a conference or large meeting. What I often do not think about is that these hotels can also be spots for visitors coming in for a weekend to explore the city.

My visit to the Westin Convention Center in downtown Pittsburgh did coincide with a conference, but the property helped me redefine my image of a convention center hotel. For those who want to be in the heart of it all and even have a great view to boot, regardless of why you're visiting, the Westin Convention Center should definitely be on your radar.

Sheraton Station Square Review – Go for the River View

Pittsburgh's iconic view from Mount Washington is known far and wide as one of the world's best skyline views. We don't know a Pittsburgher who doesn't love it, and rarely hear of visitors who don't make a special trip to the neighborhood just to check it out.

What this iconic view does not have, however, is a hotel with that same vista. For whatever reason, be it political, monetary, or otherwise, it just hasn't happened.

But there is one hotel that will get you close, and that is the Sheraton at Station Square located at the base of Mount Washington. So when we were invited to this hotel to stay the night, you know checking out the view was high on our list.

So how does this hotel stack up, view and otherwise? We share it all below.

Embassy Suites Pittsburgh Review – Unique Downtown Hotel

One thing I love about Pittsburgh's hotel scene is that it seems like the best years are still to come thanks to the boom of new hotels opening in the city.  One of the newest on the scene, Embassy Suites Downtown Pittsburgh, recently opened in early 2016.  We decided to pay a visit to this one just a few weeks after it opened to see if it would be worth your time when visiting the city.
