We recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Pittsburgh Airport South Robinson Mall before an early morning flight, and it proved to be a clean, modern, comfortable stay just seven miles from the airport.
Although this one is a bit further out than other airport hotels, there are a few reasons you may want to consider this one over the alternatives.
A Modern Room in Robinson
This Pittsburgh hotel is an affordable option near the airport with free parking and modern amenities. The rooms have microwaves, fridges, and Keurigs, which are a step up from your standard single serving hotel coffeemakers. There's also a couch, desk, flat-screen TV, Serta bed, and a bright bathroom with Neutrogena toiletries.
The gym is pretty standard with treadmills and ellipticals with individual TV screens, and the indoor pool is quite nice, too.
The hotel offers a standard Hilton Garden Inn breakfast that's free for Hilton Honors Members with Gold or Diamond status.
One thing I appreciate about Hilton breakfasts is that they include made to order omelets (or eggs), which are always hardy and filling. The hotel also has a bar and a very basic restaurant that provides room service.
A Good Location Even if Far from the Airport
Another thing that I appreciated about the hotel is that although it's right by I-376, the rooms are facing away from the highway so that there's little to no highway noise.
Although the hotel doesn't have an airport shuttle, the 28X bus (which starts running around 4 am every morning) picks up at the IKEA which is about a 5 minute walk from the hotel. The hotel is only about 7 miles from the Pittsburgh airport so no matter how you choose to get there, it's pretty convenient.
The location is also good if you need to any sort of shopping- pretty much any big box store you could need is just around the corner, along with The Mall at Robinson.
