Who doesn't love a great discount? Naturally, the Black Friday to Cyber Monday shopping weekend presents a wealth of shopping opportunities with discounted prices.
Naturally, Pittsburgh businesses and attractions are getting in on the Black Friday celebration as well.
So in this one, we thought we would share some of the best deals that we see popping up on our feeds to help you get the most out of exploring the city. From annual memberships and season passes to special releases at area breweries and distilleries, we've found some gems!
Note: The following is a quick summary of some of our favorite deals we have found so far. Black Friday deals tend to come out on an on-going basis and we will be updating this article over time as we find more. Additional terms and conditions may apply that are not included in our summary, please read deals in full prior to purchasing. Some discounts may be available now, while other promotions may only occur on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Discounted Season Passes to Area Attractions
Many area attractions offer discounts for Black Friday, often around their annual memberships.
Some specials we've seen include:
- Kennywood is offering a Black Friday sale to save up to $40 off 2024 season passes with extra perks and free admission to the 2023 Holiday Lights experience.
- Sandcastle has a similar offer with up to $50 off 2024 season passes for Black Friday.
- Idlewild is also getting into the Black Friday fun with up to $40 off for 2024 season passes.
- The Carnegie Museums are having a great sale for 20% off annual memberships.
- The Aviary is offering 10% off memberships on Black Friday and Cyber Monday using the code Holiday. As a bonus, all members will receive 20% off gift shop purchases through December 1st.
*Note: We are not sure how long the discounts for some of these promotions will run.
Discounted Shows at Area Theaters
We have found a few great sales going on at area theaters, too!
- Want to take in the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra at a discounted price? They are running a special Friendsgiving sale for up to 50% off select performances through November 27th. A full list of concerts on sale can be found here.
- The Pittsburgh Ballet is offering discounted tickets for the Nutcracker and Beauty and the Beast. Save up to 30% on select tickets this weekend using code PBTTHANKS.
- Pittsburgh Public Theater is having a promotion for up to 30% off tickets for upcoming show using code PPT30 through Monday.
Free Ride Day with POGOH on Black Friday
Pittsburgh's resident bike share program, POGOH, is offering a Free Ride Day on Black Friday, November 24th. All 30 minute rides are offered complimentary courtesy of AHN.
Special Releases at Area Breweries
Area breweries tend not to do sales for Black Friday but often do special releases to mark the special day. So if you want to take a break with a great brew, you are unlikely to find much else of the year, it is a good day to hit a favorite.
Some specials we've seen in the works include:
- Eleventh Hour Brewing will re-release their anniversary beer, Burn Your Suit, with flavored variants this Black Friday. This may be your last chance to try this one until next September!
- Dancing Gnome will be doing a triple release of barrel-aged stouts, including Black Clouds (regular aged in Templeton Rye Barrels), Black Clouds Fudge Sundae (aged in Templeton Rye Barrels), and Fading Liminal States (aged in Maggie's Farm Barrels)
- Coven Brewing is releasing a few special brews draft only on Black Friday. Priority Mail 1.02 and Priority Mail 1.03 are Imperial Stouts in the experimental series with 1.02 focusing on banana foster flavor and 1.03 focusing on coffee!
- Strange Roots will be offering 15% off online beer orders (code coming out Friday morning) and will be releasing two Imperial Stouts- The Curse and The Omen!
- Abjuration Brewing is releasing four beers starting on Saturday for their anniversary and the first one announced is a loaded candy sour!
- Voodoo Brewery is doing a cellar release of mix packs and individual bottles on Cyber Monday starting at 8 am.
Special Releases and Prices at Area Distilleries
Many Pittsburgh distilleries are also getting in on Black Friday deals, and we have seen some gems like the following:
- Liberty Pole Spirits is releasing three single barrel selections on November 22nd (note: Wednesday before Thanksgiving)- High Rye “Barrel Candy”, Peatedy Rye “Reason of the Saison” and Rye “Grapes of Rye.” Note that limited releases like these tend to sell out in just a few hours with folks lining up before the distillery opens to get a spot in line.
- Maggie's Farm Rum will be releasing special bottles online at 8pm on Thanksgiving night including a single barrel rum, a 50/50 pineapple rum aged in Liberty Pole peated whiskey barrels, and peppermint coffee liqueur. Always one of our favorite releases each year!
- Wigle Whiskey is releasing some holiday-themed bottles and is having special prices starting November 22nd, like a $10 voucher for a future purchase after spending $125, discounts on flask kits and bitters sets, $5 off ready-to-drink bottles, an exclusive sale at the Ross Park Mall location, and more.
- Lawrenceville Distilling will be having an online sale, Friday only, featuring discounts on 1129 Ridge Avenue (Absinthe) and Parking Chair (vodka) plus merch sales and gift box specials.
- Quantum Spirits is having a promotion on Small Business Saturday for 20% off sales at the distillery in Carnegie (not valid online). The distillery announced that they are sadly closing operations but will be selling the remaining inventory. So go pick up a few bottles while they last!
Wine Sales at Pittsburgh Winery
Local Strip District winemaker, Pittsburgh Winery, is offering a wealth of promotions all holiday weekend.
On the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, they're offering 30% off Primitivo bottles (perfect to pair with turkey), on Black Friday a three back of bottles for $80, on Saturday a BOGO case promotion for their new red blend, and on Cyber Monday 20% off online gift card purchases.
At the time of publication, this information was only sent to email subscribers. But watch their Instagram for public details we expect to be posted soon.
Free Beer at Primanti Brothers (and Possible Gift Card Promotion)
Pennsylvania-based Primanti Brothers restaurants will be giving out a free 12 ounce domestic beer to customers 21+ on Black Friday. Other restrictions are said to apply which we suspect requires a food purchase (the original post isn't clear).
Other sources suggest they may also be offering a bonus $5 for ever $25 in gift cards purchased. This may be worth asking about before purchasing as we have not seen it published elsewhere.
Hotel Discounts on Booking.com
The hotel booking site, Booking.com, is having a Black Friday promotion for select hotels and dates up to 30% off.
Although this one has some limited offerings depending on when you look, if you are booking a room in Pittsburgh you may stumble upon a deal in this one! This promotion appears to run until November 29th or while supplies last.

One of our favorite local photographers, Carla Cardello, is offering a couple Black Friday sales this holiday season through Cyber Monday.
The first is for mystery print bundles of Pittsburgh photography. Get five prints for just $75! Each bundle contains two 11x14s and three 8x10s (either full or with matted inside) and free shipping.
The second is 20% off all individual images (not bundles) as well!
So if you want to support a local Pittsburgh photographer and pick up some great art, this one is for you!
All-Clad Seconds Sale December 1st and 2nd
Local high-end cookware producer, All-Clad, hosts an annual seconds sale at the Washington County Fairgrounds the first weekend in December. Seconds from this brand normally have minor blemishes or scratches made during production and are sold at incredibly discounted prices. We have bought all of our cookware from this one and absolutely love it!
In 2023, the All-Clad Seconds Sale will take place on December 1st and 2nd at the fairgrounds at 2151 N Main St in Washington, PA.
Riverhounds Gear and Merchandise 20% Off
Pittsburgh's resident soccer team, the Riverhounds, are offering a Black Friday to Cyber Monday promotion for 20% off gear and merch on their Shopify store using the code SHIELD20 from the 24th to 27th.
Big Burrito Bonus Gift Card Event
The Big Burrito restaurant group, featuring restaurant gems like Kaya, Mad Mex, Alta Via, Soba, and more, is back with its bonus gift card event in 2023.
The promotion, which runs from November 13th to 27th, will add on $10 for every $50 gift card purchase and $25 bonus bucks with every $100 gift card purchase.
It is worth noting that the bonus gift card is only valid for use from December 26th, 2023, to April 30th, 2024.
Discounted Tickets to Spirits of the Burgh
You may have visited the annual staple beer festival, Beers of the Burgh, in the past. But the team behind this one is bringing out a new Spirits of the Burgh event on February 17th, 2024 at The Grand Hall in The Pennsylvanian.
To celebrate, they are offering a Black Friday presale for $10 off tickets from November 21st to 25th with code SPIRITS2024. This one appears to have a limited number of tickets available at the discounted rate ($45), so once they're out, the regular pre-sale price of $55 will begin.
