Although we are adults, we love seeing all the fun activities around Pittsburgh for kids, and we were recently invited out to check out Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark off of McKnight Road to check out their indoor activities.
True to its name, this one features an array of fun carpet slides for kids to play on, but we were impressed with how many other activities this one had as well.
We're going to say it a lot in this review, but seven-year-old us would've loved this one.

Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark Offers Indoor Fun

As its name suggests, Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark is an indoor park with carpet slides for kids to enjoy. The venue features several dozen slides of different heights and grades that kids can slide down on with either custom shoes that help lower the friction on the carpet or, for smaller kids, plastic sleds.
Although we are not kids (grown kids, perhaps), we had to give this one a try when visiting and slapped the shoes on to try a few slopes.

Oh, do they reduce friction, alright! We were actually quite surprised by how much speed we could get on these, and we could only remark that seven-year-old us would've crushed these slides over and over again.
In a way, sliding down the carpets here felt a lot like skiing (including a few inevitable falls on the slopes, too). After making a comment to that effect out loud, we looked over and saw the difficulty ratings scale posted, which mimics what you would see at a ski resort. As the grades and heights can get appreciable, we highly recommend being mindful of these ratings, as you really can get some speed when sliding down these!

But for those whose kids want more than the fun slides, this spot has several more activities to entertain kids of all ages!
More than Just Slides Here

Perhaps our favorite thing is that Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark is not just focused on the carpet slides. In fact, they have a wealth of activities targeting the youngest of visitors, to teens, and everything in between.
There are the carpet slides, of course, but this one is home to numerous play areas (that do not use the carpet shoes), including a deck hockey space, a dodgeball court, a Nerf gun battle zone, an obstacle course for racing, bounce houses for younger kids, an arcade with modern machines, and party rooms for birthdays.
Naturally, we had to check all of these out while visiting.

The first thing that we realized after exploring these is that the spectrum of activities really makes Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark a place for all ages. Younger kids can enjoy an array of bounce houses (that we were sadly too big to try ourselves), older kids may check out the deck hockey or Nerf gun zones, and even we had fun running our way through the obstacle course which comes with a timer station for kids to compete with each other. (Again, seven-year-old us would've been all over that.)
While some of these activities can be enjoyed with parental observation, we also liked that many of these stations often have staff on site to help kids play in a more structured format and, of course, stay safe.

Overall, Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark really has something for kids of all ages, and our only regret here is that we missed out on enjoying this one as kids ourselves. Still, there are many fun activities for kids in this one, and you could easily get as much out of a full day ticket as their two hour passes (which is a great deal at only a couple of dollars more)!
Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark is located at 1130 Perry Highway, just off McKnight Road. We were hosted courtesy of Fun Slides Carpet Skatepark; however, all opinions are our own.
