We always dread early morning flights, so when we had the opportunity to stay at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott recently on the night before a 7am flight, we jumped at the chance.

With recent renovations, a restaurant with an emphasis on seasonal and local ingredients, comfortable rooms, and a park and fly option, there's plenty at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott to make your travel less stressful.

Modern Designs at the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott

The hotel recently underwent a huge renovation project including updates to the lobby, restaurant, fitness center, pool, executive lounge, and guest room bathrooms, giving the hotel a stylish, modern vibe with all the amenities you could want.

Our corner room had a comfortable bed and plush pillows, a separate seating area with couch, a desk, a mini fridge, and coffee maker. The recently renovated bathrooms were very sleek and spa-like.

We also checked out the executive lounge which is a nice, quiet space to relax with snacks like cheese, veggies, and a few hot items (spring rolls and reuben bites on our visit) during the nightly happy hour. The bar was an honor bar with set prices fully stocked with an impressive assortment of liquor, wine, and beer.

The Runner Stone Mill House Restaurant

During our stay we enjoyed a dinner at the new hotel restaurant, the Runner Stone Mill House Restaurant.

There are lots of unique touches on the seasonal, locally inspired menu including a great antipasto platter with vegetables pickled in-house and house-cured meats. We tried the pasta a diablo and the “Ultimate Grilled Cheese” sandwich- a favorite.

The grilled cheese had three different kinds of cheeses and a smear of sweet fig jam, and the bread was toasted to golden perfection.

Park and Fly is Perfect for Early Flights

If you've got an early morning flight or just want to avoid the hassle of airport parking, the hotel's park and fly option is a great choice. The airport shuttle starts running at 4am and runs every 30 minutes until midnight.

Let me tell you, having someone else do the driving at 5am was just what we needed before our recent flight!

It was also great being five miles from the airport- we got to sleep in just a bit more as we didn't have to worry about traffic or the 30+ minute drive from the city to the airport.

Overall, the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott is a stylish, comfortable hotel with a great restaurant and a convenient park and fly option to the airport- a perfect location for those looking for some added convenience before your next trip out of the city.
