We've been fans of Union Brothers Brewing since they first opened in Harmony. Since then, they've gained quite the popularity, expanded into a new location down the road, all while offering the same great food and beer since day one.
We recently revisited this one for a night out, with beer and food all around, and had quite the great time. So if you're north of the city looking for food, beer, or perhaps both, this one is a great stop!

Union Brothers Offers a Great Beer and Food Combo
One of the things we love about Union Brothers Brewing is that their draft list is quite extensive. It is the kind of place that has a style for everyone, from lagers to IPAs, fruited sours to cream ales, plus stouts, guest ciders, and more.
On this particular visit, we trended to their Imperial Double IPAs, the After the Fire, Before the Flood, as well as How To: Summon the Ghost of Marlon Brando, plus a Marzen for good measure. The IPAs had a strong intensity that we always look for with Imperial hazy IPAs with distinctive hop profiles, and the Marzen was crisp, clean, and had light malty notes that we appreciated.
We started our meal out with an order of the Bavarian pretzel and a half pound of boneless chicken wings with Dirty Girty sauce.
The pretzel was quite massive, with a light, fluffy interior and a crisp yet buttery exterior. It came with beer cheese and whole grain mustard that made for great dipping sauces, and although we love some good dipping cheese, we were partial to the whole grain cheese for the complexity of flavor (who doesn't love a good mustard?).
The wings were lightly battered and covered with a sauce that could best be described as a Buffalo and ranch combo. Admittedly, we prefer some of the other flavors we've had at Union Brothers, like hot honey bourbon; however, if you enjoy ranch, this one is a fun one to try.
On the entree front, we stuck to the burger and sandwich side of the menu with The Devil's Advocate and a classic Rachel.
The description of the Devil's Advocate reads a bit like a conventional cheeseburger with lettuce, bacon, and tomato, but instead of being topped with a fried egg, they put a twist on it and put a deviled egg mix on top instead. For those who like decadent burgers, this one takes it to a different level with the rich, creamy nature of the egg.
That said, you really must like deviled eggs for this one, as the egg portion is appreciable.
The Rachel was quite a good iteration for the sandwich with a nice mix of smoked turkey, thousand island dressing, Swiss cheese, and coleslaw. Although we often love our Rachels (and sandwich counterpart, the Reuben) to be a bit more toasted, the flavorful turkey really brought this one together.
Overall, we really love that Union Brothers has a full restaurant menu in addition to their impressive lineup of brews. Whether you're looking to visit for a round, a meal, or both, this one really has something for everyone.
Union Brothers Brewing is located at 270 Mercer Street in Harmony, PA.
