Over 100 years ago, Pittsburgh was home to numerous inclines that moved residents up and down the hills. Today, only two remain- the Monongahela Incline and the Duquesne Incline.
The latter, built in 1877, has become a favorite of tourists and locals alike for its fun ride up to Duquesne Heights and Mount Washington as it offers stellar views of the city, a great viewing platform, is a short walk from high-end restaurants on Grandview Avenue, and even has a small museum showcasing the historic incline.
Be sure to take small bills as exact change is required.
