The team behind popular Pittsburgh bars like Hidden Harbor, Lorelei, and Golden Age have a new venture in Squirrel Hill- Cuvee Bottle Shop! This one takes some of the best beers and wines that were available at Independent Brewing and scales it up with an even more impressive offering of great wine, rare beer, and more.

Quantum Spirits Closing Distillery
Carnegie-based distillery, Quantum Spirits, has announced that they are closing distillery operations. This comes after the distillery closed the cocktail bar at the distillery earlier in 2023. Pick up a bottle of your favorite while you can!

Jak's Bakery Opening in Bloomfield
Jak's Bakery, known for making delicious Bulgarian baked goods like banitsa and kifla, is opening their Bloomfield storefront on Sunday November 26th. Head over to 4310 Main Street to say hello and pick up a delicious pastry!

Alberta's Pizza Announces Brick and Mortar
Pittsburgh pizza truck, Alberta's, posted a cryptic update on Facebook announcing a brick and mortar location to open in 2024. At this time we do not know anymore details, but when we followed up with “Please say North Side,” they replied “North Side”- either poking fun at us or confirming a long standing suspicion that they'll be at a prime spot.
Wise County Cafe Open in the North Side
The farmer's market biscuit producer, Wise County Biscuits, has opened a brick and mortar cafe and restaurant in the North Side on Galveston Avenue. The aptly named Wise County Cafe is now open at 911 Galveston with a ton of delicious sandwiches, biscuits to go, and more.

Convive Coffee Opens on the North Shore
One of our favorite area coffee shops is expanding. Convive Coffee now has a North Shore location at 225 North Shore Drive open from 7-7 in its first weeks. Get your coffee fix on by the stadiums now!
Space Bar Opening on Light Up Night
The molecular mixology bar, Space Bar, is going to have a limited soft opening starting on Light Up Night in Market Square. Pop out of the cold and grab a libation to check them out!
Tom Friday's Under New Ownership
One of our favorite area butcher shops, Tom Friday's in Brighton Heights, has sold so the owner will retire. The location is said to remain a butcher shop and storefront.

Taqueria Acosta Opening at Big Spring Spirits Seven Fields
Popular food popup, Taqueria Acosta, announced that they will be starting full food service at Big Spring Spirits in Seven Fields starting November 1st. They will operate in the evenings Wednesday to Friday and be open for brunch on Saturdays.
Colombino Coffee Moving Out of the Strip District
Popular Colombian coffee shop, aptly named Colombino, has closed its Strip District location outside of Reyna's. The coffee shop has opened up a drive-up cart in the South Hills at 1501 W Liberty Avenue to serve its popular coffee and food. Their second location in Bethel Park remains open.

Mindful Brewing Temporarily Closing
Popular South Hills brewery Mindful Brewing, announced a temporary closure on November 6th. They did not provide a reason for the closure nor a potential date for opening, and simply listed it as a “goodbye for now”.
Alta Via Opening in Market Square
The modern Italian restaurant, Alta Via, is getting a second location in Pittsburgh right in the heart of Market Square in the former Poros and Molinaro space. The restaurant is expected to open at the end of October.

Balvanera Argentinian to Open in the Strip District November 8th
A new, modern Argentinian restaurant, Balvanera, is set to open in the Strip District on November 8th. Details are a bit spares as of now, but reservations are expected to open by the end of October.
Lilith Opening November 2nd
Lilith, the much anticipated Shadyside restaurant by Dianne DeStefano and Jamilka Borges, is set to open to the public on November 2nd. Reservations for seating are expected to open soon.

Light Up Night Returns November 18th
One of our favorite annual events, Light Up Night, is returning for another season on Saturday, November 18th, 2023. The formal date remains to be the Saturday before Thanksgiving after being moved from Friday several years ago.
Nak Won Garden Re-Opens
Shadyside's popular Korean restaurant, Nak Won Garden has re-opened after being closed for several months in 2023.

Space Bar Coming to Market Square
Pittsburgh really is becoming a space city, and for those who want to get in on the fun, a new cocktail bar is coming to Market Square that is set to be out of this world- literally! Space Bar is a molecular mixology cocktail bar opening this fall and will offer an immersive starship experience and inventive cocktails using science and unique flavor combinations.
