Ugh, not another Sunday!  For many it seems like Sunday is the least favorite day of the week here in Pittsburgh.  Sure, you probably get the day off work, but what good is that if your favorite restaurants and bars are closed or have extremely reduced hours?

We know the feeling. We've had our share of frustrations when it comes to finding attractions, restaurants, and bars in the city that are open on Sundays- especially when the weather prohibits spending the day at one of the many awesome Pittsburgh parks.

After several years of exploring the city in the hopes of finding an activity to experience and places to eat within a sea of closed doors, this guide was born. So while more than 50% of the city's businesses may be closed or on reduced hours on Sundays, that doesn't mean you can't find something to enjoy in just about every corner of the city.

Note- Operating hours may have changed since publishing and some businesses may have seasonal hours in effect as well. Please check the website of each to confirm hours prior to visiting. To read our article about the business or attraction, click the link in the business name.

  1. you forgot piper’s pub. love their brunch! or their sunday supper (roast beef, potatoes, brussels sprouts, & yorkshire pudding all topped pan gravy)!
    great. now i am hungry.

  2. One could take in a Catholic liturgy at the majestic St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland. I believe their Mass times on Sunday are 6:30am, 8:00am, 10:00am, 12:00pm, and 6:00pm. Enjoy!

  3. Also, Lydia’s in the Strip District, for those who like all you can eat homemade pasta. Their Sunday brunch is 11:00am – 2:30pm.
